Search the archives in all forums and you will have plenty to look through. There are discs conversions, but I am sure anything to use 6 lug hubs will be custom.
There was just a thread in general about shaving the center section for more clearance, and also one on disc conversions...
Then there was the one about using using cab&chassis 14 bolt hubs to get a 4" narrower track... There is plenty info out there!
Hope that helps

There is much cheeper disk brackets than the TSM ones, check the colorado K5 BB for info on those.
Waggner machine shop, and a couple other custom axle builders have make some 6 lug outers for the 14 bolt, but that is a little pricy. But it has been done do a search in the general 4x4 discussion and you sould come up with some pics, they were posed like 6 months back.

if you want to put discs on your 14 bolt, give Shaker a holla.
Check out his site: www.shakerbuilt.com
His kit is very reasonably priced...

Ian-
I'm having difficulties finding this discussion. The search feature is rather a pain in the butt and won't let me use "6" for "6 lug 14 bolt" in the search.
I want to know how far I can machine down the hubs to fit 6 lug wheels on. I've heard everything from 4" to 4.25". I'd like to get to 4" but I don't want to end up with ruined hubs.
I'm also looking at what you do for disks. I've heard of people using 8 lug disks and drilling them and using spacers and I've heard of people using IFS 6 lug disks and machining them so the hole in the rotor fits over the hub. I'd really like to use the same disks all the way around on my truck but I'd settle for something that didn't require machining.
Oh, and if you're wondering, I'm a off-road.com and CK5 guy but I decided I'd finally register instead of being a peeping tom.
Thank you for your time,
Brian

im running a 14 bolt in the rear of my cruiser. i bought the TCM kit out of the magazine 2 years ago when it was under my blazer. its a waste of time. if your a descent fabricator you will home no problem doing it for under $200. find some front 3/4 ton chevy front backing plates. off a 10 bolt works good for us. has to be 3/4 ton though. no 1/2 ton. then buy some 1978 chevy 3/4 ton front rotors and half ton front calipers. remove all the stock drum brake stuff. put the 3/4 ton backing plate on the spindle and let it sit there until you assemble your hub with new chevy rotor. put the hub assembly completly back on and secure to the spindle. Now attach the caliper to the backing plate with pads and position it at the angle on the axle you prefer. have someone hold it in place and use a air hose to put pressure threw the brake line to pressurize the brakes. Take the welder and put 4 tac welds holding the backing plate to the spindle. remove the caliper/ hub/rotor etc. now you have access and weld the backing plate on permanently.
this has worked great for all the members in are club . we currently have 6 trucks running this system on there rear axles. works for 14 bolts/ dana 60's and 70's.
HOPE THIS HELPS :D
and for the 6 lug thing.. for the time and money to do that.. just put in a 60 front and get rid of the prone to break birf junk.

Using it in 8 lug is easy. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. It's even easier when there are guys that will sell you caliper brackets for $60.
The hard part is 6 lug.
Dana 60 = half what I paid for my truck.

well if you only paid 2,000 for the truck.. why spend another load of $$ to convert a 14 bolt to 6 lug. why even go to the 14 bolt?? what t-case you running?? hows the driveshaft gonna work? why not just use the yota rear axle?? all questions one must ponder. if you want 6 lug that bad. buy a late 80's early 90s semi floating 14 bolt . came factory 6 lug. even though there c-clip junk. but it will match the junk birfields in the front

I know it's a 'yota forum but this is the only place I found 14FF 6 bolt info.
(image removed)
I paid $1900 for it. I put a 350 in it, two doors, a front fender, and a front clip off an 89 Jimmy. It's got ten bolts front and rear and 700R4/NP208. I don't want a 14SF since they cost a lot of money (I can convert a 14FF to 6 lug cheap if I do it myself) most of the time towards the $350 range for a 6 lug (I can get a 8 lug for $75) and then I'd still have to convert it to disk. Driveshaft isn't an issue, all I need to do is pick up a conversion universal from Napa.
'yota axles aren't worth the powder to blow them up. They're like condoms, use them once and throw them away.
