View Full Version : do you like your cold duck?
I am interested in buying a cold duck t-case, for those of you with one already, how do you like it? Any problems? I have a t-18 so the d20/203 is out of the question as far as I know anyway.. I think the cold duck would be the best buy for the money, what do you think?
nobody has a cold duck tcase?

Hey I put one in last year and love it "now"!! putting it in was a pain 2 of the adaptor holes were off no biggie. i've got a c4 with 4:11's I'm switching to 4:88's but if you do alot of highway stick to 4:11's. the only real annoying thing is judging shifter play so it doesn't pop out, once thats done it works like a charm.
A $1200 charm.
but hey FOOD OR PARTS .
HOW MUCH DO YOU REALY NEED 3 MEALS A DAY!!

i wanted one for a while, but i was convinced that taking away like 6-8 more inches of my rear drive shaft was just not a good idea if you lifted tall and have a lot of rear flex
well I have decent flex, with the f-150 spring hangers from B&T, and the f-150 springs, but I just moved my axle back 6 inches so when I get the cold duck my driveline will be the same as before, hopefully anyway.

Why do people still use f150 coils? That's what we used to do to get a cheap 2" lift. There are several coils on the market that are supposedly better (softer/flexier). Not trying to be a SA, just want to understand. I see B&T does this a lot-I want to know the advantage. Maybe this should be a new thread...

at first i thought that the short driveshaft would be a prob.
I was out at wild horses and looked at one there.
i'm running 5.5" lift and it's not bad in off camber spot's and in rock's or ramp's she handles like a dream

I did not use f150 coils, I have wildhorse coils. I used F-150 rear springs and the spring hangers that Mike from B&T sells.

well actually, I just finished welding the hangers back tonight, the bronco is down to the frame, waitng for the cold duck, so I do not know if I like the axle there or not, but I think that I will!

It's a dual D20 setup that Gershom Litts on the east coast makes. The price is $1400.00 without a core or $1225.00 with a core. The kit comes with everything you need to install it including your choice of a manual shifter or cable shifter. The twin stick for the stock case is extra. Don't know how long yet-got a email to Gershom to find out. This is the way I'm going-if I grenade the output shaft I'll upgrade to the new WH HD output.

i was talking to a guy at highangle drivline last night.

when you us it you have to switch to the hd output shaft.
when you do that you can use the 32 deg. 1350 cv drive shaft.

Yes, I have seen the ebrake setup from highangle. Very nice and I will do that as funds become avaiable or when I grenade the stock output. Which ever comes first :D
