I just bought an NP 435 for my CJ with a 258 - I am sure this tranny swap will require me to change clutch and pressure plate - anybody tell me what kind? Just not sure how to find that information.

Thanks.

Pressure plate to fit your Jeep, disk to fit whatever the tranny came from (Ford?) A decent parts store can help you find a disk the right diameter for the flywheel/pressure plate. The throwout setup might require some futzing around... Same deal with the decent parts store. Use the fork from the bellhousing you're using, and start with the bearing sleave to match. If it doesn't fit your tranny snout, then get a throwout sleeve/bearing top match the tranny and see if it can be made to fit your fork.

I obviously don't have part numbers for you, that's just the process I went through putting a Ford T18 behind a 350.

What bellhousing are you using?

Here is all the info I currently have:

1 - Ford NP435 with an adapter kit and shaft to keep my Dana 300
2 - I am looking to buy a T-150 or 176 bell housing as the guys at Novak told me that would be a direct bolt on for this tranny

I called Novak after I posted this as it had not ocurred to me to do so - the guy I spoke to said a clutch disc and pressure plate from a 79 Jeep would work - I looked the info up on centerforces website and the information matches up:

10-1/2'' Diameter Pressure Plate
1-1/16'' x 10 Spline Disc

3 - I bought a pilot bushing from Novak so should be covered there

Last issue in my mind now is the throw out bearing - why could I not use a throw out bearing that is made for 79 Jeep and is made to go with this clutch and pressure plate???

Thanks for the continued assistance.

The clutch nose might not be the same diameter as your old tranny. If it is, great. If not, you need to find a sleave to match it. In my case I got a heavy duty throwout/sleave for a T18 and kindof made my fork fit it (small amount of grinding).
