Got a 35 spline HP D60 front end...Wanting to lock it right now as opposed to opening it back up 3 months after the gear install. Kinda two birds with one stone type of thing.

I thought about a detroit because of simplicity and pure beef. I could always unlock the hubs and it would function as an open diff, however driving in snow (quite often) could be interesting right? Sometimes ya need one tire spinnin up front and not both so, does that rule out a detroit?

What are my options for selectable?

ARB..
Eaton... Do they make a 35 spl 60 locker yet?
T-locker....?? Dunno, off to read Bill's write-up..

Im thinking the 14B rear will be welded/detroit.... Rear end doesnt matter as much right? Just need some strength back there..

Any other options?? Let me know if ya need more info,

-Joe

P.S. Kinda in a hurry, got the diff all apart, half way thru the 5.38 install and now I wanna locker, heh :flipoff2:

I went with a detriot in mine, snow, mud, rock, whatever, I still like the detriot the best. Maybe it's just me.

You said 5.38's, you got 5.38's for your 14 bolt, I was under the impression 14 bolts only went to 5.13's.

Yea, waiting on the gears to throw in the 14B, other than that the 14B is ready to go...

The 5.38's have just been on back order for a while :D

If you want selectable then ARB would be the way to go.. Or you could run an Aussie or Lock-Rite or something similar..

I have no issues with my front lockright in snow, can't even tell it's there, untill you get stupid with the skinny pedal.

You could just unlock one of the front hubs if you only wanted on tire spinning. Right?

Does anyone know if Eaton has a 35 spline D60 locker available yet? Seen them in a 8.8 and liked the way they worked.
