It was a a prototype suspension that Mike Shaffer put together a couple of years ago. I've since tweaked, adjusted and otherwise worked out the bugs. For what it's worth, it works really well on the trail. A might unstable on the road over around 50MPH, but it really sticks the tires to the ground in the twisties.

Tom Woods CV driveshaft and whatever adapter he sent along...that shaft rocks. I'm done carrying rear driveshaft spares.
Did I just ensure a rear drive shaft failure on my next run?

It's on the slabs on the way down to Buck Island. For what it's worth, I was parked, being yanked backward at the time...just along for the ride!!! :D

Pulling seatfoam out of your ass?
Yeah, that's probably what he meant...Like I said, I was laughing almost all the way over. When I got yanked back and knew it was past the tip-over point, an echo of, "SON........of a...... BITCH!!!" was heard throughout the land. :D

nice flop, was just looking at a jeep flop in the other section and he got about 15 flamers calling him an ass, what a difference over here in the lightweight rig section. shit happens, what's their problem.

Thanks...it was my best one so far. :grinpimp: I came down off the ledge and my front diff hung up hard on a rock "outcropping." There was no moving it, so there I was. Couldn't go forward...couldn't go back up the ledge. I rigged the strap too quickly and didn't worry about the odd angle...and my buddy pulled me back too far and too fast yanking me right over. I was just along for the ride.
Shit does happen...it's all part of the run. Push it back over and keep going. :D

had a great time today Okie. Looking forward to the "outings" with the club. I was thinking about heading back East in the next week or so to bring it out, but alas, I have no place to park it or my trailer. Anybody wanna lend me a house with a big back yard for about 30 feet of trailer and a rig? Not you Greg. BTW, Greg, got a call from home and it seems my niece is learning to drive. Guess where my rig is being kept? Now, guess what she's learning to drive in? her dad (my wife's bro in law) thinks cause the Sammi is geared so low, she'll have an easier time learning to drive a stick. Oh, well. :D

hey Cap'n Ron,

I'm running 33" MT/R's.
The body did pretty well...The hood got munched on the driver's side about the size of a hand and the quarter just below it took some damage. The rear quarter took another dent, but was hard to find among alll the others at that corner. :D The targa took a sideways hit and I didn't realize it until I got home...was bent downward right over my head. The roll bar/cage took a thumbnail sized dent right above my head as well. One of those things...you hope you never need it, but when you do!!!
Non-Urban got me a replacement hood already just 'cause he's that kinda guy and my buddy Richard...who did the pullin' happens to be in the auto body/custom paint biz and he's going to factory match the green paint. Should be like new again. :grinpimp:

I'd say that shaffer suspension does extremely well. But a short wheelbase is a short wheelbase there's no way around it. If your going to build it to fit around the rocks you better get used to tipping it over. Sweet rig looks light and nimble I'd love to beat the piss out of it.:smokin:
