Why a Weber?

I'm just curious why the Weber is the main aftermarket carb used on Samurai engines? I've got an old 1.7 Toyota (in my Samurai)with a Holley carb on it, runs fine, and the opportunity to buy a Weber 32/36 already set up for this engine.
Is there any advantage of one carb over the other?
