I found this while I was looking for stuff for my new Dodge Diesel,,,If you have already seen it, sorry, just hit me with the welcome to yesterday thingy.
Anyway, its a trans cooler for the 4500. I can see a definite advantage to this for people who use the 4500 to tow or carry heavy loads, and I can actually see an advantage for wheelers too. It might not do much to cool, because of the slow speed we run, but it provides extra cpacity for more fluid, which can be beneficial...Anyway, check it out and comment on what ya think...

I saw that (maybe in the TDR mag?), and feel about as much need for that as I do for a mag hytec diff cover. IMO, pretty useless unless you are pulling 3 car trailer or using it as a hot shot rig. Not so sure I'd count extra fluid capacity for a 4500 as a bonus either, have you ever priced the stuff out? I just did a $65 fluid change in mine.

yep, those have been on the TDR for a while... they fit the nvg5600 also but does it really matter if the gear oil in the tranny is 110 degrees or a mere 100 with the cooler if it made that big of a difference? I'm guessing not and spending my monies elsewhere. If anything you might get better fuel mileage with the hotter "thinner" gear lube because of less drag. This is america- make something new and you might make a fortune.

No kidding--that fluid is pricey as hell. Why would you want more of it?
This would be nothing but dead weight on anything other than a fulsize truck pulling a huge load at freeway speeds.
looks to be common PTO cover so that would fit any common light truck tranny
I was expecting an actual cooler when i saw the link

The funny part is that some people were excited as hell about it on the TDR when it came out. Some of those guys will buy anything shiny that fits there truck. :D
I had a guy ask me about hooking up a sender for this rear diff temp (truck was still well under warranty, too). I said why do you care? When did rear end temps become such a huge problem for guys with 70 and 80 rears in commuter trucks:question:
