I have a '91 Blazer 1500 w/ standard 10 bolt rear. I have a lift kit and oversized tires. Rear is in need of second rebuild in 3 years. Have recently installed a Woody drive shaft, but too late to stop the destruction. Can I evenly swap a 12 or 14 bolt rear and if so, where do I go?

I believe that you can use a 14bolt from anything but a van/1ton and the spring pads/shockmounts will bolt right up. You can get a u-joint that will hook connect your shaft to the 14bolt, but I think you have to get the shaft shortened. Dont know about about bake lines or e-brake. You need 8lug wheels also. A search will reveal lots of info on the sublect.

BTW, before someone else does it to me :flipoff2: newbie!!
welcome

How "Oversized" are your tires?
If you do go with a 14 bolt, remeber they are 8 lug, you will either have to convert the 14 bolt to 6 lug, or convert the front to 8 lug to match.....:skull:

I swapped to a 14 bolt FF and am still running the same drive shaft, I just had to get a cross over ujoint. If you went with a semifloater 14 bolt you could keep your 6 lugs, but it wont be as strong, stronger that the 10 bolt though.
