Should the inner hub bearing slide right off the spindle when you pull the hub?

The reason I ask is that i picked up some new bearings (they look the same) but when i try to slide the new bearing on the spinde it doesn't go on like the old one.

Yes, but you have to line it up just right. Compare old to new, are they the same?

I had the same problem with spindles on a D44 front. I took some sand paper and sanded them down and they went on fine.
