What axle is used in front in 3/4 tons 94+? is it a true dana 60? or is a dana 50 like the 3/4 ton fords used to use (changed to 60 for 02') also how much should i pay for one??? thanks for the help:usa:

from what i've found, a limited number of 5.9 2500's in 94 and early 95 used a dana 44 in some models, most have used a 60 since 94 though. it's a true 60, but a 30 spline version. i think it is fairly easy to put 35 spline shafts in though. i wouldn't pay much for one, to make a it a really strong axle is gonna take some chas, remember these axes have the pos central axle disconnect too. dynatrac makes kits to eliminate it though.

Its about the biggest POS 60 front you can find. Do a search.

Also, in '94 they stopped using king pins and started using ball-joints instead. Big mistake, I've heard of several Cummins equipt Rams wearing out the ball joints on their 60's pretty fast.

In '94 they also quit using the tried and true spindle/ bearing setup, and started using unit bearings. They are not as strong.

The '94-up Dana 60's are the first 60's to use a CAD setup, pre-'93 used manual hubs.

Get a pre-'93 D60, its a far better unit.

i knew about the CAD, but not the unit bearings, and king pins, could i retro fit ford kingpin knuckles on too it? are the high pinion?
