Hey, its a V8 with stock axles. The poster thought he was saying something impossibly stupid, but apparently there are stupid people in Florida.

So take the ball and run with it. Compile all the links to motor swaps, format it and re-post it, then stick a link in the Suzuki Faq. The other option is to cry and wait till someone spoon feeds the info to you :shaking: Honestly I have had 0 problems finding the info you seek, I have been contemplating more HP for a while.

i got a 73 datusn l20-b engine (2ltr) and tranny in my samurai (jus recently got). pretty much all booty fabbed in there, and the radiator is in the giant hole in the front end.

actually im havn some problems with it, maby someone can help me. and before i get flammed, i have read the board, and googeled the problems and done my weeks of research and so far no progress. i hear its a sorta common swap, and if someone can help me i know this is the place.
theres a random miss in my engine, and only when i idle. i have a webber carb on there, and i suspect this is where the problem is. when we pour seafoam down the carb itl kick in and run jus fine, but the second it burns away it goes back to its random miss. the things we've done so far are checked for vacuum leaks, replaced every hose, got new contact points, and cleaned the carb. when i looked down at the jet jus random amounts of gas was bein poured out and im not sure how to remedy this. i thought cleaning it would, but nope. its my first car :grinpimp: and im loving getn to work on it but i would love to drive it more :D
*puts on newbie flame resistant suit* any help for my problem would be great, thanks in advance. -Jason

Kukuk's with me, the motor had been sitting for like 5 years I want to say, outside of LCNW in Portland. The carb was uncovered except for the shelter by the hood so we donno if the jet is just gunked up or what. Its also got all new plugs, wire, cap, rotor, points, and everything like he listed so we're really not sure wtf is up anymore  . Thanks anyone for the help -David-

Was the carb at least coverd with an air cleaner as well?
if not I would do a rebuild on it, to be safe.
Is the fuel pump good?
is the condensor good on the coil? or the coil for that matter?

Yea the coil should be in good shape, pulled it outa my dads zuk that I bought him... but it had been sitting so maybe I'll pull mine and throw it in his and see how that works. And no the carb wasnt covered at all cept by the hood, it was wide open, we also cant get the auto choke to work on it for some reason, maybe we hooked that up wrong. -David-

kukuk, I belive the problem that you are having with you idle is in the carb. If i remember right that weber carb should have three jets. One of the jets is for idle pull it out and put the next size smaller in it. I hade the same problem with mine when i bought the carb. Also go get a haynes manual on weber carbs it will help you tune it up correctly.
