Anyone know a place in SoCal, preferably near San Diego that can build custom headers for a 4.3L Vortec? I just got the motor last night and found that the stock manifolds will land right on top of my frame if i try to drop it in as is, so i need some headers that will squeeze against the block. also what do the toy guys do with this swap, i know their frame rails are the same width as mine. is there a different stock manifold i can use? the motor is out of a full size BTW. thanks.

Try Advance adapters. They sell headers for weird applications. Sit down before you ask the price though (but might be comaprable to custom ones)

There's a shop in Anahiem next to Donahoe, the manufacture headers and do custom ones on alot of the sandrails. They charge around $100 per cylinder.

Call Eric@Fatcity (805) 477-1306. He designed and built the ones for Grapenutz and the "FatCity Bronco" Does great work.

Astro van ones are different, or you can do like me and mount the engine higher and get creative with the Y-pipe.

BTT - anyone know about any other stock manifolds or off the shelf headers that may work better? even some headers that just exited out to the rear instead of down might work.
