A friend has a 75 Bronco, 351/C4/D20, sweet rig. Thanks to me, we're looking at crawler gears for it. Looks like the options are the JP Eatr gears and the Cold Duck. From the search(yup, I actually did it, thank you), I see both applications out there, is one better than the other? On the dual case, seems the rear d-shaft is kinda short. Thanks.

Can't you also put a Klune V on an Early Bronco? Slightly shorter then a dual case setup..

Tera low gears = 3.15
Cold duck = 6.05
JP Rockeater gears = 4.86 (Wild horses web site)
Word has it that the JP Rockeater gears are the best out there so far.

Here's another idea to consider it's what I think I'm going to do.
1) Sell the C-4 and Dana 20 He can probably get quite a bit out of it.
2) Buy a C-6 and NP205 you can get more than enough from the sale of the C-2 and Dana 20 to buy these.
3) Put a Klune V Goliath between them.
The ratios would be 1.96, 2.7, and 5.29 and it would all be bullet proof. The total length of this conbo is about 47.25".
I think you can also run a Klune V off of the C-4 to an NP205. The Klune V is not offered for the C-4 Dana 20 combo though only the Marlin Crawler.

Sell the EB C4/D20 find a 4x4 C6 and get an Atlas.

How strong is a Atlas I compared to a NP205? EB, big block, and 44" meats. Will the Atlas I be strong enough? If not I may have an Atlas I (3.5 ratio) that I need to get rid of. :D

OK, I'm gonna ask a real stupid question here. I'm not a Ford guy, and please keep the flaming to a minimum...(deep breath)...is there any way(oh, geez) to mount the manual valve body from the C4 onto a C6(covering my head)?

unfortunately - no they have a deal with Marlin so they don't make the klune for the EB - you can get the Marlin though.... I have heard of a few people that have adapted the klune to work with the dana 20, but I don't have any more info on that.
Another thing to consider with that power plant driving the t-case - the Dana20 output is usually the weak point - by the time you put JP gears and a HD driveshaft in there, might as well go with an Atlas - not saying the Dana 20 is a bad choice (I'm still running mine) just look at the whole equation before the swap. I have heard of a C4-203-205 setup, could be really sweet too!

what about the 203 crawler box from WH. i like that, it seems to be the best way to go, i have heard some bad stories about Jacks gears, also the 203 box is lower (4.92 VS 4.86) plus i get to sell my $$$$ AA NP435 adapter

Yeah but I think he is an auto guy and with that 203 range box they only have the adapters to use with the 435.
No way an atlas is going to hold up with 44's and a healthy big block clc900

what else does an np205 bolt onto? I have c6 np205 in the garage collecting dust, and I was thinking of putting the np205 into an 85 Bronco II along with a 302 swap. The c6 was attached to a 400cid, so I don't think that it will bolt up to the 302. Will an np205 bolt up to an AOD?

The 302/C6/NP205 is a bomb proof drivetrain. Thats why I run it. Down fall is the gearing in the NP205(1.98-1). All you would need is a C6 from a 302, then put the output shaft from your C6(400) into the C6(302). The C6(302) was mated to an NP208(I think).
Ford use to sell a wide ratio planetary gear set for the C-6 tranny, It was offered through the SVO Motorsport catalog.
This would help with the poor low range of the NP-205.
just FYI.

Yep, and if you find a C6 w/4wd tailshaft, you don't even need to swap outputs. The 205, 203, 208, 13-45 and 13-56 are all interchangable as far as Ford is concerned. The only hangup is that some trannies don't have the notch for the 205 shifter.
I also seem to remember that there are two different C6 tailshaft housing lengths, depending on which xfer it came with from the factory. The 203 was longer, so mebbe the tailshaft adapter was shorter?
That, and I'd DEFINITELY build a mount for the 205 or any dual case system before hanging it off the back of an aluminum-case tranny like the E4OD, AOD, ZF, etc.
