What's the general consensus here? If you were looking to get a tube bender for cages, would rather get a JD2 model 3 bender or the pro-tools model 105 bender? What are your reasons?

Here's the deal...People that have a JD2 will probably say they are great...people who have the Pro-tools one will say they are great....how many people do you know have both benders that can give an honest opinion? So basically, pick one that suits your needs and go with it.

Nice and to the point Scout Dude. They are both a good product so look at the total cost IE: bender, dies, accessories and then find out what type of service people have been getting with each of them. I know for sure that the JD2 works fine but they are slow as hell at getting you what you ordered so chalk that one up.

i got to use my jd2 for the first time and i like it. it is alittle work but it does make some sweet bends! the only advice i have for either is use a long handle!

A wise guy eh? :)

Perhaps I should've been clearer with the intentions of my post. I did use the search feature and found out a lot of great info, but figured I'd throw a post up to see if anyone had first hand experience with both models as I didn't see anything like that in my search results. Obviously my wording didn't really get my question across, I apologize.

The JD2 looks like it's a little less expensive. The both look pretty much the same. I'm going to go JD2 and save some $

pro-tools is a little more but it only took a week to get it... as opposed to what 6 weeks with jd2... no thanks :D

Just got the Pro Tools 105, definitely worth it, not having to wait 4-6 weeks for the JD2.

I want to get a bender and learn. What model of the Pro Tools do you guys suggest and what dies? I would be using it to make my cage, sliders, fenders, and links.

Thanks!

That looks great!

Like I posted b4, looking to build my own cage, sliders, and fenders. What dies do you all suggest?

Thanks a lot!

unless the dies are interchangeable I don't like the fact that the pro tools one doesn't offer 2" tube 180 degree dies, the biggest that they offer 180 degree dies is 1 1/8" tube...

It's a matter of taste..I personally like 1.75" for cages...maybe 2" for full size rigs. I also use 1.75 for bumpers and other stuff...etc.

i got a 2" 120* die from pro-tools... they dont make 180* but it's not that difficult to make 180* bend with the 120* die.
