I'm interested in the breakage on these...I am planning on buying a set for my zuk next week.
What tire size/gears/engine/terrain were you in when you broke it? Front locker?
I've been running the stock birfs now for over 5 years and still am on the originals (I'm changing to the longfields because the cup on one of my birfs has a crack in it; I know it isn't long for this world). I have a light foot and had an open front diff for a long time...maybe that's why they lasted so long for me.

Where's the beef?
 couldn't resist................... Nice to see the aftermarket coming out with new stuff, should work great for a light duty wheeler.

Lol, if the front end doesn't have traction your not working the front axles. The real test would be trying to drive up an undercut. It happens a few times a year where there is a spot you have to go up and it's undercut. I always cringe as the the motor starts to bog with the t-cases in double low. My dream someday is to have another stock Zuk for light duty exploring so everyone should buy some of thses things and get the prices down :D

Trust me...I took the pics.
The front end got one HELL of a workout before it decided to take a break!
I know just the undercut! I destroyed the whole ass-end of my truck when I sheared the toyota driveshaft off because of it! I will take him down there after he gets those in!!

AMEN to that...these have been out on the market for a little bit, but not too many people know about them. I'm hoping to help change that by featuring them on I-Zook.

OH ye of little faith....been poundin on my sami for 5 years now with no major problems (until now cuz I just cursed myself). Plus the fact that I like keeping my sami, mostly sami...after all, small and lightweight is why I got this rig in the first place. But, that's the wonderful thing about this country..to each his own!
But, there are also pirks to working for I-Zook too (if you know what I mean.)
I'm TESTING these axels for I-Zook...so if they break...there will be a write up written by your's truly, and everyone will know. And everyone will also know how the breakage was handled by the vendor (although, I really don't see a problem.) If they don't...then everyone will know that as well! I plan on writing a 6mo, 1 year, and 2 year follow up article on them no matter what happens.
I'm running a 4.10 T-Case, Rock Block, 5.12's, F/R lockers on 33x13.5 LTB's, so I have the perfect rig to stress test these.

Interesting that there is such a difference in how the Newfields brake verses the Calmini axles:

I still don't know what broke the shaft, I was not wheeling hard that day and it broke without noise and no vibrations or locking of steering. Aftermarket pointed out how it broke is strange, I thought so too. The pieces that were pulled from the diff look like shredded beef, fibrous and stringy looking. Newfeild sent me a replacement postage prepaid and I am up and running. One time usage of warranty is now done, no more freebies.
As for Calmini h.d. rear axles, I have broke them too. Matter of fact I sent them in and they said they would warranty them. Been waiting on them since May of this year, On back order, supposedly. Yeah they broke different than these, probably a heat treating thing.

'88 Sami with 1.6 8valve, 5spd, 4.89 to 1 x-case, 2" Bonz springs mounted on top of the axles, 33x13.50-15 LTB's, 15x8 with 2.5" BS, 4:30 gears, EZ-lockers frt & rr.... Broke the NEW FIELDS on the first test run after about four hours of wheeling :( ..... My friend does have a heavy foot but was still shocked to see both frt inner axles broken  ..... Now I'm not sure if I want to buy them or not.... Was trying to keep the Sami high clearance & light weight axles..... I may still try them because my foot isn't that heavy and I only run 255/85-16's (approx. 34/10.50-16 narrow)......

How you like the new Calmini High steer?
How did the new birf's break? Right at the inner diff spline like mine or did the inner cage break at the birfeild?

The Calmini Steering is great!!! I was very happy with the install, took no tine at all... You do have to run 2.5" BS wheels though but I have them any way so no problem... I just like the way it attaches to three points rather than "most" vendors steering that only attaches tp two points... As for the axles, the long side exploded!! Metal was everywhere, but the Birf's were just fine... short side was a clean brake right where the spline comes out of the side gears.... I should be able to e-mail you pic in the next day or to if you want to see them... I don't have a "red star"..... Not to cheap just don't want to set up a pay-pal accout to pay for it.....

I think by looking at my break that the surface needed more heat treating, like say about an 1/8" worth. Other wise the birfs are damn near indestructable. Great product really for sammy axles. Could probably use more fine tuning. I also noticed that the hub bolts became loose after every run. Upgraded to spidertrax hub bolt kit and seems to work so far.
Thinking about getting the Calmini High steer but need to get those axles they promised first. They attach great and look beefy as the Breeze set up.
They replace both axles or just one? I asked earlier about replacing invidual r+l inner shafts but too no avail. I knew that would be the weakest link. Now to ask for more heat treating, enough to blow the ring and pinion.
