I was going to use some 1.5" DOM with a .25 side wall. Who has taped this out before? I was thinking of using a 1 1/8" tap and using a threaded stud on a rubican joint. Any ideas if that would work well?
Thanks
Phil

It will work I do it all the time. I also use an impact gun on low and realy slow to run the tap through the tube once its drilled to the correct size.

I have access to a lathe, so it was really easy for me.

You might be able to find a good shop in your area capable of tapping it for not a lot of $$$$

tapping is fine

but on another topic, 1.5 .250 wall isn't real strong if it's being used for lower links. take a step or two up in either diameter or wall thickness. If you really want a 1" ID, how about 1.75 with 3/8 wall, or even 2" with .5 wall?

Hes got a point. When I use 1.5 x .25 wall its on street trucks with air suspensions. Its a lot different when rocks are in the mix.
