Any body ever heard of a HD dual stator torque converter? I heard that it will multiply down to 3.5-to-1.
Is this true or just a line of B.S.!
:usa:

Never heard of it myself. I have never dealt with a HD T/C, just street racer types. I have spoken to several tranny shops and every one of those told me I should run with an Allison H/D torque convertor or another one that seemed comparable if not better. I'm gonna have to call around again and find out.
The Allisons have some beefed veins and fins and some other beefy sounding stuff.:D Unless its a conspiracy I tend to believe everything I heard about them so far.

It is true. From what I was told by a coworker. A dual pitched stator is in the TH400s in older Cadillacs that were behind the 472 and 500 engines. I believe they were from around 67-72. There is a switch inside the car so you could toggle between two torque multiplications. This allowed for fast starts off the line or faster high speeds.
