Just wondering if it matters what year of case I need for the 2nd case to use marlins adapter to run dual cases. Does it have to be the same year as the stock case, or can it be any year (not v6 though or turbo) so it will bolt to the adapter?
Anything else I need besides whats in his dual case kit?

85-88 4cyl TOP SHIFT case. It has to be from a EFI 4cyl (non turbo) Truck or 4runner. 79-83 5 spd cases will also work.

EDIT: You will also need a new crossmember, both drivelines retubed. and floorboard / center console modification. If this is a short wheelbase truck, Use the front CV on the rear of the t-case, and the single u-joint on the front. which will also require (if lift is more than a couple inches) rotating of your rear axle to point directly at the t-case to reduce chances of driveline vibrations.

Alright thanks. Is the cross member something I can make, or do I have to buy one?
Sounds good!

Look around at what people are running and decide if you can make your own or not. Most people buy them.
