I ended up getting a real clean 99' cr250 of a past/fellow wheeler and calrock competitor, which was pretty cool.
I guess it was his spare bike, which was hardly used in the past couple yrs.
It has,
fresh suspension and pivots points
stock and larger clarke tank
two extra full sets of plastics
another gripper seat cover to match current graphics
new rear tire
fmf gnarly pipe w/powercore silencer and another w/ spark arrestor
pro tapers
plus other misc. stuff
I think it was a good buy and its already 10 times better and cleaner than my 400f was. It's nice to have a bike that'll wheely on demand and is very light. Sucks, I'll have to wait till next weekend to take it out to hollister and get used to it. My riding buddy is stuck working and I have a broken tooth from my fawking bronco.

They will be soon, I'm just tring to figure what else I need for hop-ups. I switched to the all black plastics that I sanded down to get rid of the glossy look so those could get beat while I get used to this bike.

110 overall in all classes I was 55th
never crashed:eek:
never quit:)
had tons of fun
I'm sore as hell today;)

things I have added to my bike
Oring chain, steel sprockets highly recommend, doesn't stretch much if at all, never needs oiled, clean bike take for quick ride down the rode and hit it with wd-40 to stop rust, grease is sealed in.

cyra pro bend guards
devol rad guards
fat bars
spark arrestor

Where in san jose?

I just got back from hollister a few min. ago. All I can say is wow....this bike is fawking badass. It accelerates so fast and the throttle responce is so fast. I was doing wheelies all day any gear any time I needed. I feel great after the ride too, while my 400 would beat me down with its weight and I'd feel like mush at the end of the day. That clarke tank is nice too. I think I only used 3/4 of a tank if not less all day.:grinpimp:

LOL
I don't know where, like 191 miles from OROVILLE
My buddy will know, he drove, all I know is the club was TIMEKEEPERS & I bought a $5 ticket to win an o4 KFX250 that has a bunch opf crap done to it:)
I love this compared to my YZ250F too.
power is always there now!
Feels tons lighter & my F was light, but this is lighter but feels tons lighter.
it's taller but I'm just getting used to that, the suspension works so well, I do not want to touch anything, it ate up some jumps I thought for sure I was going to crash, nope didn't happen:eek:
O-ya, the 14oz flywheel weight was 1st thing I added, best thing I did to bike, it will lug down so far without stalling, it lets my get to clutching to get up the gnarly stuff without the dreeded stall:D
there is anothewrrace near sac in I think 2 weeks, I'm planning to go, I'll post up, you might be interested in going
only thing with racing
AMA membership $40
District 36 membership $36 or so
race fee $40 to 60
I had D36
but had to pay $60 entry, $40 AMA $15 t-shirt:D $115+ gas+food+parking/camping.....adds up quick
had to leave motorhome at home due to HIGH GAS, I just bought this RV, sold JEEP YJ to get it, but it would have ate $240+ of gas, I only had plans to go aprox 50 to 100 miles 1 way on trips;)

Sounds like fun, but I don't think I'm ready for a race. My cornering is terrible.
I passed through san jose to get to hollister, about a half hour past. I know metcalf is real close to there so mabey thats where you went, otherwise I don't know of any other land down there for riding.

Cool...

What are the trails out there like? I've never been there but read that it's pretty small. At least compaired to hollister.

hard packed right now, pretty fun woods, not real tight, not overgrown, not real rutted up.
some rock, some big wide open full throttle areas, not sure how big the area is, but the spot we rode wasn't all that big, not like you could get lost like on my trails:eek: But it's cool you have an area to ride & the TIMEKEEPERS club out there keeping it open:smokin:
