I have a rear axle out of a 1970 3/4 ton chevy. I'm gonna put it in my YJ. All I've been able to find out about this thing is that it's a ho72 and made by eaton? It came with a detroit as a option and has a similar carrier to the new corp 14 bolts.

Question:
Can I swap corp 14 brake parts on to this axel. one of the backing plates is toast and I need a new one.

Also does anyone know anything else about this thing...?

It also cam with a 44 front that has drum brakes. Is it possible to swap on later chevy spindels, rotors, hubs to get discs like the bronco 44 swaps using chevy gear. The only problem might be the closed knuckles...............does anyone know???????

You can swap out the front stuff you just need nuckles out. I believe that the difference between drum nuckles and disc is the spindle bolt patern is rotated differently. Also you need new axle shafts and u-joints because I think the pre-73 D44's came w/ 260x u-joints...not really a upgrade (I could be wrong but I know the 1/2 ton u-joints were the small ones).
