Hi, my name is Dax Spencer, and I live in Tennessee. I have a 1999 jeep wrangler. I am very new to building jeeps, and this will be my first jeep build. I am looking to build it, for the mud. I am going to put of 33x12.50 Bf Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires on it, so I can save the gas due to the fact that this is a daily driver to and from school. But I got a huge question, when I first bought my jeep it came with Bf Goodrich 31x10.50’s All-Terrain and Trailmaster shocks, but when I go off-road in my jeep, I will hit a bump and it feels like I am jumping off a building and landing flat footed. So, I am looking to buy a very soft complete 4” suspension kit. So I wanted to know if you guys could give me some advice on what suspension kit I should buy. Also if you have any other advice on the stuff I will need to build this jeep. Thanks Dax :)

Because most here feel thier better than everyone else, this thread will get moved to newbie. Don't sweat, cuz there's good people there too for answers to your questions. It's just that these guys think hardcore offroad is putting full size truck axles under a Jeep with everything else being stock.

Do a search for Fulltraction lifts, and Clayton lifts. If I was doing a newer rig I'd buy one myself. Just remember that the biggest tires you can run safely with the stock diffs are 33x12.50's.

Um I was trying to help you. There are quite a few more DD rigs and owners over on JU. Plenty of info there on bolt on susspensions too. If you look there, you will find your information quicker and get less flames. Not to mention tons of info on bolt on kits. Like I said, there is a lot more experience with bolt on kits over there. Hey if you don't want help thats fine though. :shaking:

Yeah the guys on JU are a little less hardcore. Most rigs on here are dana 60's, atlas, 36" and up tires

Me no dickhead... just some sound advice: If you are going mudding, the BFG MTs are pretty good but I'd think about getting some tires that self-clean a little better like Super Swampers. A set of TSLs will cost you about the same as the BFGs and are a lot better in the mud - especially in the gumbo stuff.

i got the 33 13.50 ltb's they kick ass, but they dont go to big 34's. So if you are going bigger then go with boggers or iroks

Dan, you have to understand this site is not a "bolt on" site. It's a 'I fabbed this myself", " hey check out my junk it's all beat to shit, Sweet Huh?", "I'm putting a Dana 60 into a Sami with a small block on 44's kinda site. So check out JU they'll have the info your are looking for.

Basically same as everyone else said, JU is a good site, also check out Jeepaholics.com. As for your question, RE's 3.5" kit is a good choice, there's plenty of guys with this setup that will attest to that.

Most people here are smart, they have the ability to reason. They might realize that this is a rockcrawling site, not daycare. Some might even realize that on a site like this, a question like yours might be better posted in the NEWBIE section. :flipoff2:

Try using hole tard Austrian migget that couldn't toe F*ck a ferret with out Viagra. (works every time and chicks dig it)

Try the bluetorchfab.com site. They are pretty friendly and Kelly, well she's just pretty. I've got some YJ axles that already have the spring over mounts on them with 3:90 gears and some 33x14.5x15 SSR radials that I might be getting rid of as a set if I can work out a transportation deal with another guy in Tenn. who wants to do some trading for my BBC. PM me on what info you are looking for and I can email you some pics. I believe I'm running the setup that you sound like you might be happy with. :cool2:

Why would he want your set up? He has a TJ and you have a YJ? The guy obviously doesn't want to do a lot of fabwork because it is a DD.

Duh! your right. at 3:00 in the morning i thought it looked like 1989 Wrangler, not 1999 Wrangler. My bad.

Dude, did you look at any of the posts here before you posted? Did you see the rigs with tires taller than a 10-year-old kid? Did you see the newbie bashing? Did you read any of the tech in the newbie section? Did you look around at the structure of the site, and even SEE the newbie section?

Yeah, it's their fault. :shaking:
