I KNOW that I am going to catch some flak for this from the Tellico boys, but several people I know who have wheeled down South and have wheeled Paragon say that it is the toughest wheeling on the East Coast. There are some nice rocks on Pebbles n' Bam Bam and the M Trail. Here are some links to Paragon trips.

I'm a Tellico regular. I have seen pictures and vids at Paragon....I would say that it has a few places that equal or rival Tellico. Hope to get up their one day and check it out. Looks like some Hell rock gardens to play on.

i'm originally from baltimore. Paragon is definitely the best place to play in the area. Depending on the conditions it can be pretty tough.

It's pretty safe most people have heard of Paragon. I'll be going on April 7:D if the rig is in one piece. And maybe in August.

i live about 15 minutes from there

why do we have to say it is easier or harder than someplace else
it has some tough and fun trails at all levels

you can go there now with just three vehicles, do not have to wait for an organized run

they are opening another place near tower city, 15,000 acres
which has some serious climbing

anyone who wants to go and needs someone to tag along give me a yell

Why do you have to say that there is serious hill climbing, couldn't you just say that there was dirt you can drive over?

I just compared it to Tellico because the guy hadn't been out there and I though I would make the comparison to someplace most everyone has heard of. You are right though, there are trails for everything from stock vehicles to rock buggies at Paragon.

I haven't been to tower city in a few years. It is/was owned/leased by PP&L. They used the area to dump their fly ash from the local Coalgin plants. There are some great trails down below the fly ash piles. You cross the tracks then can come back around under the highway. The area we were at was real tight and alot of off camber. But then again I guess that's what you get for going down the 4 wheeler trails.

As for the hill climbs, you need lots of wheel speed to get up the very, very soft ash. Best combo I saw was, a rail with 350 huffin' NOS and paddle tires.

I used to wheel a lot in the Tower City area with the now-defunct Keystone Cruisers, several of the members had secured permits to wheel there. The typical central PA stuff, lots of slag, some wicked loose climbs, and some pretty gnarly powerline roads. One time we came upon an area that had been completely deforested, looked like the face of the moon, pretty fawked up!

I didn't know they were opening a wheeling place there, can you share some details? It's not too far from Paragon, further N on I-81, right?

Are you talking about runs besides the "beginning of the month" trail ride? Do you still have to get a guide? More details, please!

tower city info web site
www.rauschcreekracing.com

if you call kyle at paragon you can go there with three or more vehicles, the rigs have to be equiped for the trails they are going to run
we just went on 12 mar 02, we were allowed to run from 8-4
all they really want is someone from the group who has been to the park before, they will provide you with a map

any more questions just ask

ya, I have been to tellico and paragon, and i would say that bam bam at paragon is the toughest trail I have been on! It has enourmous rocks! 44 inch tires didn't help much.

I can't wait to get back to paragon, plus it is closer than tellico!

I have been to Telico a couple times. Freakin awsome! I haven't been to Parragon yet. I plan to go real soon though. I hope it turns out well. What is the cost to go to Parragon. I live near DC so the trip to PA is much more friendly then the trip to NC. Do you have to have a guide at Parragon?

Any more info on Tower City would be cool. It's a little closer to me than Paragon. I went wheeling up there 5yrs ago or so before it got closed off to trucks.

Nothing on their website (http://www.towercitytrailriders.org/) about trucks. It's just a quad/bike place. They lease a crapload of property.
