Hey guys, I could use some help identifying this axle. It was used as a trailer, and the WMS is approx 61-63. It is a pretty old axle, over 20 yrs. It has 30 spline shafts Here is a link to the pics

What is a chrysler 8 3/4 axle? Used in cars and trucks. They used it for about 30 years I think? From 1955 to about 1974.

i thought the 8.75 had an octagon shaped diff cover, not a drop out third.

could be a furd 9" or a model 20 jeep/dodge rear end. wms is right for an old waggy or cj.

the pinion is to long for a 9, unless there is a 9 out there with such a long pinion i dunno bout, even the bolt pattern is different

Interesting Deano...Pretty sure it's not a 9" if it's 30 spline, and it doesn't have the intention for the pinion on the rear, like you mentioned. Hmmm...Anyone else know for sure what it is? Chryco 8.75 for sure?

I think its out of an old Chevrolet (like a 55-57).

can I use it for anything? How about strength issues, I think it might be capable of 35 spline shafts, but im not certain
