Hey I was wondering, and I know we've been discussing this recently. But are scout D44's and GM D44's so different that you can't get SS-Extended scoutII brake lines and hook them to your GM D44.

I would think since Most D44 parts are interchangeable that this would be feasable.

I already bought the adapters for my existing extended brake lines to go to the scoutII hardlines, but I thought I'd bring the idea up JUST IN CASE.

Sure, not a problem...

As long as you use Ford calipers in your SII brackets, or Chevy brakes with the 3/8" banjo bolt instead of Scout brakes with the 7/16" banjo.

Which means Chevy caliper brackets, and probably Chevy or at least Ford rotors, which means Chevy spindles and probably Ford or Chevy stub shafts...

Plus you'd need to change out the hardline from the m/c to the front brakes because they're also the wrong size for the Chevy hoses..

But otherwise, yeah, they'll work fine.

:D :flipoff2:

Actually, some folks have had success by drilling out the Chevy banjo blocks to take a 7/16" bolt for SII calipers..

I think you'd still have to adapt to the hardline though.

Sounds Sweet to me, I'll just use my adapters though ONLY BECAUSE I ALREADY HAVE THEM;)

Come on, do it the hard way, then write it all up so we can learn from your efforts... :D

Hold on here?? ... I switched my lines from the sout 44 caliper to the chevy caliper...no drilling......of course I haven't tried it to see if they work yet... All I did was switch the bolts around, in other words, I kept the chevy bolt and put the scout lines on with it...

Are you all saying that won't work?

Hmm.. the Scout calipers (and lines) use a 7/16" banjo-bolt.

The Chevy brakes use a 3/8" banjo bolt.

You *should* find that the brass block on the caliper is loose on the banjo bolt.

You may or may not have a leak there..
