Here it goes,

I whanted to change my tranny and 5 out of 6 bolts that hold my skid plate just snap. What is the best way to put it back on the frame.
I want to be able to remove it once a time so i don't want something weld permanently.
And i don't want to drill and tap the hole because the frame is not thick.

I had the same thing happen to me and I made a custom cross-member/skid plate.

The cross-member bolts to to brackets I welded onto the inside of the frame rails. The skidplate bolts up to the cross-member.

Here's probably the best pic I have (sorry):

I helped Old Guard put a 700 in his CJ7 and of course the skid was back a bit so the holes wouldn't line up. I welded a rod to a nut and fished it into the frame , run a bolt up thru the new holes and it's still holding. He went with me on the Sept. Moab trip and drove there and back....

Drill straight through and through bolt it to the top. Aligning it has never been easier.

You could drill out each bolt and either tap it or use nutserts. I made my own crossmember and attached it to the frame with nutserts. Pics of the crossmember here if curious (no nutsert shots though, but they're 3/8" and often used for beadlocks. I got them from Rockstomper (http://www.rockstomper.com)) :

Pick up some new nuts and bolts

Drill out the frame holes just a bit smaller (1/32" or so) than the widest dimension of the nut....not the faces of it, but the points.

Take one of the bolts and big fender washer and put the washer on the bolt, then the nut.

Pound the thing into the drilled out hole so that the washer just keeps the nut from popping inside the frame rail.

Take off the bolt and washer and weld around the edge of the hole/nut to hold the nut in place permanently.

Cheers.
