I called a place today to find and adapter to go from YJ ds to yota axle. And the guy was like no problem, bring it in... sorry no can do.. that whole 3000+ mile trip isnt gonna work. So then he was asked me for the Pilot size of the ds. And i was like wtf???

From what he described it was a new flange for the yota axle that the u joint attached to.. not something that the u joint attached to the bolted to the flange.

I am thoughouly confused...

Anyone know what he was talking about.

me too, does your rear axle run a flange for the shaft to bolt to? if so he is probably talking about the locating hole that centers the flange, call him back and ask him questions, assume nothing, heck ask him to e-mail you a qwick pic of what he needs to know.

Okay so it looks like were going from 1310 on your yj shaft to toyota what year diff? there are a few ways to do this both are kinda cheesy though- 80-83 diff's 2-2-799 neapco flange 84 up 2-2-799-1 these are both 1/2 ton joints in the flange and toy patterns- Jess

Jess It is going from a 1310 (stock YJ) u joint to the flange on a 1997 toyota tacoma axle (8.25). I would think that i either need an adapter (like for the 8.8) that bolts onto the flange or a new "flange" that accepts the 1310 ujoint?

Any ideas?

if its a v-6 bolt pattern on the toy end- use the 2-2-799-1 and redrill the bolt pattern- piece of cake - that's what you need- Jess

Yeah but it is defin a 97 4cyl tacoma axle with 4.56 gears in it.

Thanks again

i called Jess this afternoon. Not only did he have the part I need, but he had a "semi heavy duty one". Thanks a million.

After just a short convo with him, I would recommend giving him a call. Very knowegable and helpful. When i upgrade my ds, I know where I am getting it.
