Do your motor mounts last? The stock GM rubber ones both ripped after 7 or 8 trips and the advance poly ones lasted about 5 trips. One caught fire on the last trip. Do any of you have this problem? I have universal center outlet blockhugger headers. Do I need to wrap them or is there another solution?

I checked out my friend AA ones and wasn't all that impressed. He was also ripping the chevy rubbers and his motor coudl torque around a lot. I ended up running 2 pieces of 3/8" plate approximately 3"x7" with four 9/16" holes drilled at 1" apart vertically per plate. Motor side I built the plate with the triangle pattern and a piece of channel welded at 45* to that and a 2.5" ID sche 80 pipe 2.5" long at the end welded on. I have a 2.5" OD poly spring bushing and 9/16" ID sleeve in the motor mount part. With the 4 holes in each plate it gives me 4 different hieghts for the motor if I chose to change my drive train, skid plates, lift height, etc. Having this configuration also keeps the bushings way away from the exhaust. I love having the adjustability, and I have about $50 in building them, maybe 4 hours of work.

I have the More bombproof mounts. They have lasted 5 years without a hint of trouble.
