I was at a recent offroad competition and noticed a G-Wagon that had an 8274 that was hydraulic assisted. The way it worked was that when the winch approached stall speed (indicated by an amp meter in the dash) he flicked a switch and the hydraulics kicked in to assist the winch.

I really want to do this mod! I couldn't find the hydraulic motor anywhere. I was thinking perhaps that it was inside the spool? Anyone point me to some possible leads of how to accomplish this mod?
