Hi their

I recently rebuild a 1982 Chev 350 Block, orginal flywheel with a 1988 TBI Top End. I installed this into my 96 G30 1 ton van. The starter from the orginal 96 1 Ton bolted on no problem, but dosnt seem to want to roll the engine over. its slow, and sounds tight. I tryed shims, made no difference. The Battery is fully charged. Is the 96 350 Starter different then the old stye 82 Starters?

Also, Do I need to have the EGR Valve on the TBI Engines, or can I block this off. The reason I ask is their is no EGR valve on the top end and their rediculously overpriced.

I am betting you used lots of paint. if so you will need to remove the paint from the surfaces that are carring the current to your starter. the graound cables and the frame to body grounds, they should give the current a clear path so as it can crank proper. as for the egr, plug it, does do enough to worry about.
