Hello,

How hot would the outside of the air meter get? More precisely could you just bolt a good reusable filter right to it. ( eliminating the whole air box assembly!!!!) ?????

Those new oiless filters seem like they would be good for this.
I thought I read somewhere that the grid measures the air with the wires at 1000 deg F. That has to be wrong!!!Please inform mw if you know.

Thousands of ricers out there running pod filters directly on the AFM. But most of them do it for the noise it makes.

The temp won't be a problem. The wire might get that hot (esp if self cleaning), but it's tiny and the housing won't.

the sensing elements are situated such that you'd have to have mighty tiny fingers to get near the hot parts.
