Just because an item is 'bran new' doesn't mean you can expect to sell it second hand for close to a 'new' price. I'd be VERY surprised if a gear manufacturer (or seller, distributor..) would honor a warranty to anyone other than THE ORIGIONAL BUYER... :rolleyes:

Ok so i took my truck into the gear shop to get the 4.88s changed out to the 3.73s i already had. They quoted me $275 and i told them the truck i had, and how it was a dana 60. When i went to pick it up today, i get a bill for $516.45. I ask wtf was up and the guy says well since it is quadrasteer, i had to take the whole thing appart. said something about the c clamp being different than on a reg. dana 60. so i need your guys help to know if hes telling the truth or if hes just trying to bs me. thanks alot

This is great advice so I thought I would repeat it for one good reason. The other thread (you know, the one with the $1200 gear install) shows 'SLO Charlo' repeatedly mentioning his desire to cancel his check for the work already done to his truck. Don't take a personal check from this chump.

I would also take it a step further and only ask for a U.S. Postal Service Money Order. They are cheap, easy to get at any Post Office, and difficult to fraudulent. Anyone that does counterfeit one of these, it becomes a Federal Crime. After you receive it you simply take it to the Post Office and get cash right there on the spot. Ebay users claim it to be the safest way to gaurd against fraud.

Were you going to contact the family attorney yourself or was your dad/mom/sister/aunt going to handle that? If you want, post the number so we can call them and take some of the pressure off the family line, or knocking on the door, showing up at Cal Poly SLO to tell your prof we're taking you to lunch, or showing off your latest dubs at a frat party or wherever.
