: damn 2f fuel pump let go!

SOB! man dogwalker...you jinxed me when yours went out. i guess ill throw an electric pump on the beotch! so what do i do about this pump thats on here? just unhook the lines or plate it off or what? i mean is there any prob with leaving an unhooked up fuel pump on that boat anchor for a block?

You could plate it, but most just leave it there without any ill effects. Make sure you don't run the electric pump lines through the old fuel pump (plumb new lines). I have seen the old pumps (housings) start to leak when the electric is made to pump through them.

see the funny thing is...it wasnt bad. just when i tweaked the hard line when i installed my alternator during the p/s...i messed up the line. just had to tighten the nut down on the line. hehe:rasta:

HAHA I did the same thing on my Mustang. I forget what I was doing, but I tweaked the metal fuel line. It ran like crap (duh), so I rebuilt the carb. Still ran like crap, so I pulled the engine and did a total high $$$ rebuild to make it fast. When I was pulling the engine, I noticed the kinked fule line. Oh well, it's done now. :D
