Anybody get any crap done this weekend?
Spent Sat. trying to find these Dodge rotors that will work for the IH 74/75 D44F. Didn't go so well. Came home took a nap woke up drank beer.
Sun, got dog box loaded, fixed power brake unit, then went out to pop some Dove. I've been itchin to try out my new shotgun. :smokin:

I did nothing. I had a long week at work and just wanted to relax.

This past Saturday I just did some little nuts and bolts type things, and mounted up a power steering pump on my 152. Sunday I didn't feel like doing a thing, so I didn't.
Left to do... finish building steering column, get hoses for power steering/hydroboost, regear axles, driveshafts. Oh and brake lines on rear axle. Then it should be driving/wheeling.

the local County Fair was this past weekend so I hung out for that since my house was located in the middle of it! Worked on the "Little" Scout--removed both the front and rear axles and suspension and remainder of the exhaust. Goingto start tearing down the "BIG" Scout this week for renovations and a new body and cage.

Went to Pick-n-Pull and grabbed another driveshaft with a CV joint to replace the one I exploded on the 'con. I decided to go that route after talking to my driveline shop and findout that a new CV joint was going to cost about $180 and the total bill to cut the old one off, weld the new one on, and balance the shaft was going to be $273. If they started from scratch and a built me a new shaft identical to the old one it would cost $277. I didn't want to spend that much on something that's going to change when I swap axles so I just picked one up from the JY. Spent a couple several hours yesterday retubing the JY shaft. Using the dial indicator, I was able to get the diff end of the shaft down to .003" run-out and the t-case end down to about .002" - .003" run-out. I figure that's close enough for a wheeler...:flipoff2:

Got a new air filter for the 152. :flipoff2:
Also ordered a new brake line - the previous owner ran a HARD brake line from the front axle up to the MC... :nuke: (f'ing dumbass....)

replaced my radiator. (Gave my old one to the loon that bought my parts scout, and needed to tow it back to Denver with his own broken Scout).
Put a hole in my new radiator.
Went inside and drank.

Did you sell the DieselScout??!!
I cleaned.. and I'm not done.
Washed the race Scout and tow-rig. Washed my wife's 800 engine bay.
Unloaded racer, unhitched trailer, emptied the truck bed and filled the storage shed.. and unloaded the 304 I bought a week ago.
Then I found out that the 1,000lbs rating on the garden-tractor trailer I bought for just this purpose was a bit optimistic..
I loaded the 304 into the trailer, and towed it around to the backyard with the (red!) lawn tractor.. pressure washed the grime off the engine.. then started back to the shop when the tractor stopped going forward for some reason.
Looked back.. "WTF? Did it suddenly decided to dump... er... no, the dump latch is still good.. WTF??!"
Stupid uni-body trailer.. axle is mounted to a "V" of sheetmetal, mounted to the underside of the sheetmetal "box" bed.
Back half of the trailer bent until it hit the ground. D'oh.
Wife took pictures..
Come-along got things back to where I could tow it back to the shop at least, then the hammer came out after I got the SV out.
It still resembles a box trailer.. somewhat.
Other than folding in half, it worked just like I had hoped - the trailer is just big enough to put an SV in it, and it's very maneuverable.. easy to wash out..
Other than that excitement, I cleaned the shop. Still much to do on that front..

That was after I used the come-along to pull the engine forward, up off the ground. Tried to roll the tractor while doing it, too..

You better do a buildup thread on this one ~ or POW ~ to the moon!
I still can't get that slideshow to work ~ my connection is to freaking slow.
Serious, TAKE PICTURES AND MAKE A BUILD POST...
Ahem....please.

I wired rusty...almost done with the control and gauge panel. Just need to run and terminate the ends, and hook up the battery cable. Then I can install the TBI system, which I'm SURE is missing a few parts.

Well, it's up for sale. It hasn't sold yet :D It will be a good foundation for someone to build a good machine from.
I cleaned.. and I'm not done.
I need to finish that shop project as well, My shop is still a wreck from a 4x4 conversion on a pickup from last winter. Some of it is gone, but there is still a pile of rusty parts from it that haven't found thier way to the scrapyard.
I am just slow anymore.

Wanted to repair my rear AND front brake lines, (Holy Cross pulled the fronts hard and crushed the rear), but a friend called late Saturday night. The labor she lined up to moved landscaping rock backed out and she had to move it off the street. I'm getting too old for that shit. Today, I'm nursing old war wounds. Gawd, I hate feeling my age! Sonafa.........:(

I added a power steering cooler and changed fluid to royal purpel to try and fix my lack of power steering with brakes on. So far, i think it worked. I also got the rig ready fo big bear this weekend. I hope to get my heater box from summit this week so i can have heat soon. :D

Sad to hear, but you've got Terrorall, what else do you need:laughing:. I wish I had the cash/time/space it's a really good place to start.
As for my weekend,
Friday: Broke something in my new clutch on my diesel Scout
Saturday: Helped a buddy move, BBQ at his new house, movies/beer/unpack repeat!
Sunday: breakfast, drive home, help Dad pickup a bunch of stuff from an old lady he's helping out at our church, B-day for Dad.
So, today I get to go see what parts fall out of the inspection cover:mad3: :mad3:

Friend cam over and we worked on his jeep. Put on an 8'' alumiflex lift, 1'' body lift, 1'' motor mount lift, rubicon express upper control arms, and lots more crap. Still feeling it. Pretty damn sore...

Bought a 1991 landcruiser. Pretty cool family ride. Seats 7 and rides like a dream on those coils. Should be a decent wheeler. Bought some 4.56s for my Dana 70 so I can finally engage the 4wd on my scout. Will the Lockouts off a 98 powerstroke 1 ton fit my 1979 Dana 60 front? I found some cheap at a wrecking yard but I won't waste my money if they won't work.

Took the quads and the Scout to Sand Mountain. Yes ,climbed sand mountain with the Scout.. Tore up the rear output on the 205, twisted springs, bent shock towers, bent exhaust,. Drank a lot of Tequila and beer, awsome food. Did a lot of night riding. Tested out the new old dually. Nothing like a big block Chevy:cool2:
Put the new house on the market...

Another Scout guy came by and wanted to try out the lockers he just had installed in his SII, so we took both trucks out and played a bit in the local wash. Funny...I actually had more fun than on the last 'real' wheelin trip.
Then later, my neighbor came over just after dark and asked if I could get his kid unstuck. Guess he was messin' around on this local canyon dirt road and overcooked a corner...blew right past it and into a 8' deep ditch in his S15 Jimmy. I winched him out and towed him home. Wish I had brought the camera:p

GrannyGear ~ you can't wheel! You're only allowed to build stuff for incredibly long periods of time and then sell them !!!!

My family and I were treated to BBQ at Reubens with his family and the Rocktractor family.
Reuben hooked me up with a SII frame. I have begun a 4 seater project. It'll be neat.

Those looks like Subaru Baja seats.... what are they?
I was told they were from a late 80's early 90's Mustang GT, but another eBayer chimed in with " I think they are from an acura integra gsr mid 90's model ".... SO....I don't really know for sure, but I know they're comfy and I love the lumbar support. The 20 minutes I've driven it so far have been a treat. :D
