mine was a 2wd 1500, but i trimmed the engine crossmember down about 6" so that i could get away with only 2" of lift (and 38.5s :flipoff2: ) im sure the same would probably work for your truck too.

it was a boxed crossmember, so i traced out where i didnt want it hanging down, torched on those lines, then cut out plates to weld to the bottom of it to re-box it.

edit: found a pic...

Redman: you mean with stock tires it would be only 2" higher than stock???? I want it the same highth as if it had a 4" ifs lift but with a D60 :cool2: . I don't want 4" springs, then I couldn't pull my gooseneck.

yes. i have only 2" of suspension lift. if i wouldnt have hacked so much out of my fenders, i probably would only have been able to run 33s and still needed to trim a bit.

it took me a full day just to do the crossmember, in addition to all the rest of the work involved. it sucked ass, if u have a plasma it would be better, but only a little. you are still cutting a lot of steel (several layers thick in some spots) overhead in a cramped area, so whatever u are using it will still suck major ass, but its worth it. :D
