Got a 2003 ranger putting one of foxfab's IFS 'yota boxes on.
Is there room on the factory steering shaft to have it machined to fit the splines on the 'yota box? Or is there another shaft I can use as a replacement that would fit.

Shaft end.

id goto the junk yard and pickup 2 shafts, one for the yota one for the ranger and weld em together (making it moveable of course so it doesnt bend on a flex) unless its a DD, then i have no clue, i have never tried that

Ya it's gonna be a DD. I guess i'll have to check out some other ranger sites to see what to do. Figured I'd try out pirate first. Thanks anyways.

id get the toyota shaft, and then go from there, just make two shafts into one. like netbsd said, or if they both use the rubber flex piece just unbolt the end of a toyota shaft and put it on the end of the ranger shaft.

x2 or you can weld the shafts to fit the rubber flex joint, i didnt like my rubber flex joint so i made one with 2 u-joints, works fine for me. my old setup was a chevy shaft made to fit ontop of my stock ford shaft it just slides right on it, dunno if you can do that but it worked great for me, also allowd movement for body flex
