I had a 62 Scout for my very first vehicle.... Im kinda thinking I want to build another one but with the goodies that are in my truck (350TBI/SM465/205 Built D44 and a 14B blah blah blah)

Questions... whats the stock wheelbase on one of the lil guy Scouts? Which one has the Full length bed fenders (I remember them being like benches all the way back. )

my plans would be to link it front and rear as Im not really into leaf springs. Id be cutting up alot of sheet metal as well, comp the rear and probably narrow the front with gratitious use of tube everywere.

And if ya have a built lil guy Scout... please by all means post pics and get me excited. I semi started a Heep buggy but have decided Im not ready financially and space wise to commit to it. I think this would be more unique and probably be more dear to my heart. Id sure love to find my old 62 :(

All Scout's with the exception of the Terra's and Traveler of post 76, have a wheelbase of 100". Just FYI the Terra's and Travelers had 118".

The Scout II's had the same WB as the old school ones?! Crazy, they look so much bigger to me. (and uglier :flipoff2: )

They have more hanging over the ass end.

It's a long slow build.

Scroll down to the buildup threads. Click on Project This Old Scout, Rock Scout, and go to D and C Extreme, there are a couple baby Scout builds.

There was another guy with a bright yellow Scout he was building, anybody remember that? Fuel cell in the floor, Chevy motor, no glass in it yet, super clean.
