Need help ASAP! Locking gas cap lost key...

My girlfriend just got home and she lost her locking gas cap key. She is running on fumes and there is no spare key. Has anyone dealt with this? Is there an easy way to get it off? Please help I have to get this off tonight. Thanks

if its the regular plastic ones you can take a 90 degree hook pick and catch under the lip and pop it apart it is just a snap together assembly
if it is a metal cap good luck

I got it....Sweet....I used the Grab and squeeze like hell technique...It did not come off at first until I pulled towards the side. Damn thing blew up into a million pieces and I fell on my ass. Got it off and ended up with a small piece that still screws in to stop gas from spilling out. Just suffered 3 cut fingers...Girlfriend says she will do anything now...lol...Thanks guys...

mine was the metal one. I just took a pick, pushed it in there, and then took a flat screw driver and turned the lock and pop she was open. shit canned it and got another one. pretty easy.
