Going camping for my b-day at Frank Rains. The creek should be nice and wet. March 23 and 24.
Mark,
Can you weld up my rear diff with the big Mig?

Has Amanda selected a Scout yet?

I've never done it before but I'm sure we can getcha locked up. I'll do a search on welded rears.

With regard to the new Scout- not yet. She needs to sell the Toy to fund the new project. Keep your eyes open!

Eyes are open. Sellin rigs seems to take a couple of weeks now days.

Welded diff...
1) drain diff oil
2) spray with brake cleaner and wait a few minutes
3) ready fire extinguisher
4) fill spiders

We'll get it figured out.

What hole? I see his front tire lyin' on flat ground, not in a hole, along with the driver's door. :D

I see the front tire dip in.. then when you roll, you've gone a Scout-length forward AND a scout "height" sideways, putting the driver's door down in the muck?

How fast were you going? Did you hit the brakes, or the gas, when it dropped in?

If it was the gas.. were you wishing you'd locked the front? :D

If it's not raining... I can get the family to camp at least sat night. If you want to camp... camp. Better opportunity for additional beverage consumption! Otherwise, it's an hour or so away. Show up whenever. I can't wait to see your new w.arms in action!

Actually the ruts made the recovery a real PITA, the first time we pulled it back up it rolled right back into the same spot. We had to use a rig on the other side to keep tension on it preventing it from rolling back over.

I tried to winch it from the drivers side frame rail, but the ruts where going to pull the tires off the wheels.

Had to pull it back, turn the wheel, then pull it forward.

BTW, I hate the fawk'n mud for that reason.

Sponsors are good! Maybe you should hit up D&C.. :D

Most of my sponsors are for go-fast goodies.. or stock replacement goodies (like sheetmetal for the racer.. starting to collect a new body for it... in the shed, next to the new body for the trail rig I haven't started to install.. :D )

Probably not. I would do it for some sponsor product though. Drive to the event. Get it. And still be able to drive home! I drive a SCOUT!
