i just got one of these recently and i was wondering how close u guys are to the settings thet reccomend under the lift up panel.do u deviate far from those numbers?
also the upper volt knob moves in nice smooth increments while the lower wirefeed knob and display seems to be very erratic.once u get it it stays but its very sensitive and jummpy trying to get it set.is this normal?
thanks

They're suggestions. It's going to change by how YOU weld. My settings would likely not work for you :) The knob I can't comment on though, sounds like the potentiometer might be flaky?

I run about 17V and 200 wire speed on tubing with .035 wire.

On my 175, I think the recomended settings are pretty good for a nice smooth pretty weld, but a little cold for good penetration.

i welded some framesliders on a yota last nite.i use millers recomendations but jumped it up 1 more volt to 19 and it went great(3/16 tube).
i had a few spots that were a little dirty and it kicked back a bit but if i got it going good and went for a long time it went very well.i have an autodark helmet and when it hits a dirty spot and flashes my eyes still are blinded for a bit.

I set mine by what the chart states, then go from there. But I am usually very close to the chart. I even made a copy of the chart, laminated it and stuck it on the wall for easy reference.
