well i just thought i'd post a picture of the chop saw table/metal rack i threw together. i had a bunch of old steel sitting around from other projects so i decided to build a chop saw table. i still had to buy the casters and the angle iron used for the runners though. nothing special but i thought i'd post.

Looks nice. I would have put another piece of angle as a fence on the left side of the saw to keep your material square though.

ditto. it also allows a clamp stop for multiple same length parts.

Hey that's cool! I like the ideas for a fence.
Do you have a closer shot of how the chop saw mounts? What are the specs on the saw?

Sweet table!

Also like the RR crossing sign in the background. Picked up an old cast iron one at a garage sale that needs to be put up in the shop. May have to reinforce the wall to hold it though.

i may build a "fence" in the future if i feel that i need it. in certain situations it is nice to angle cut the metal that way and it would be in the way so like i say i'll just have to see if i feel like i need to do it. if so i can burn one on there easily enough.

as for the mounts....well the table top frame work is made from 2x3x1/8" the back pice is one piece all the way across and on the front it is boxed in to both sides of the table top. i then built a tray out of angle iron for the saw. i sunk the tray into the inset and once i got it all leveled up i welded it in.

spec's on the saw: milwaukee 14" chop saw with the 3.xx HP motor.

i got mine from the marine corps air station in beaufort south carolina. i was stationed there for over 6 years of my 8 in the usmc. anyway when i forst got there being i was just a PFC a the time i was put on base beautifcation for a month and during that time i found the sign in a dumpster when i was dumping some trash. anyway i grabbed it.

We have one similar at work and it makes the saw so much more usable.
