83 ranger ... what is it worth ?

A friend of mine has an 83 ford Ranger 4x4 for sale but I am not sure what it is worth.

It's a 4 cylinder, 4 speed, A/C, SnugTop shell, good blue paint ( top matches), lifted, 31x10.50 tires on aluminum rims. 186,000 miles, new engine in 92 and a new clutch 1 year ago.

What would be a good price to pay for this ?

Yup!

Rangers aren't really worth anything. You can pick up the older ones all day long for $500.

New engine in 92? You realize it's 2002 right? It's probably about due for another. The first one didn't last 10years, what makes you think this one will go much longer?

Can't say much for the tranny's. Unless it's been rebuilt, it's days are probably numbered as well. Price a rebuild...

Personally unless I were to get it real cheap ($500) I'd be looking for one that already has a 2.9L.
