: Fuel guage ????

Ok, I finally got my Rover moving after sitting for two years. ( I'll go post some pics in the section after more testing!)

I decided to make a ga skid and while I had the tank down got the nipples redone on the sending unit. The guy put in a new ground and I also put in a new ground to the frame.

I tested the resistance for the guage before reassembly and everything looked fine.

I started the motor and the fuel guage won't move(the little light is also on!), put more gas in-nothing. Everything is hooked up, I double checked.

Any advice? ( I know that this isn't really good tech but a guage is worth every penny.) Also getting atrip permit and don't want to waste any time screwing with wires and such!!!
Thanks -JC

JC:
At least some info to go on would be helpful :flipoff2: Like, oh, I don't know, maybe something like year, model, etc.

Have you done anything like maybe check for power to the sending unit? Maybe look to see if the resistance changes when the float moves?
Look for continuity between the sender and the gauge?
Does the gauge move when the wires are either grounded or hooked up to 12 VDC?

It's a fairly simple circuit and shouldn't be too difficult to resolve.

Problem solved, stuck float!!
PT-appreciate the info, I did check some of the stuff you mentioned it seemed ok. I didn't know what the resistance should be with only a little gas in there.
Sometimes you get lucky, I've had enough disappointments-it was bound to go my way once!!
