I should have taken some pics while I had the radiator out. I painted the brackets black because that's what I had, and I didn't want it to look too hokey with rusty bed frame holding the pump.

Here you can kinda see the two brackets on the backside. The upper arrow points to the long one, which goes to the upper motor mount bolt. The lower one goes to the motor mount itself. I drilled a hole in the mount itself. My mistake was not using the upper stud on the pump housing to brace it with, hopefully the lower stud will work for bracing.

Here are the other brackets on the front. The upper one I bought at Autozone, the lower is more bedframe angle. I had to cut off part of the flange so the belt would not rub on it.

Another view from underneath. I didn't quite get both ends of the link, but you can kinda see where it goes, those two bolts holding the water pump housing on. I used the upper bolt.

My steering column. I thought about it for awhile and, being near broke, came up with this. I took apart a rag joint and welded it to a u-joint, then welded some dom tube to it. Arrows point to the welds.

The other end. I cut down the stock steering column and made a bushing to fit in the end. I also added a grease zerk, spring, and stop collar to keep the column tight. Cutting out a new rubber seal around the column was a must, since mine had long ago fallen apart. There was always a cold wind on my legs in winter, along with engine smells. I was going to have the rubber gasket on the inside like it is supposed to be, but by the time I got to that I already had the column in for fit-up purposes. Anyone who has taken one out knows what a pain it is to put it back in. Besides, what would it hurt to have it on the outside?

The inside of the column end. I did not want to weld it in, so I used scrap from the cut off column and made a bracket to hold it. I will supplement the zip tie with a hose clamp.

Now that I have a SII d44 and springs up front, I need to lift the back some more.

I cut the hangars off front and rear, the used SII hangars welded to plate, and welded the plate to the frame, 33 inches outside to outside, front and rear. I don't know how many times I tacked them on and cut them off because it wasn't right.

Here is the steering box, mounted to 3/8 4x3 angle. I welded nuts on the back of the angle and cut holes in the frame.

Thanks go to Damian of D and C Extreme for the "how to" on the steering column and steering box. : urock :

It is an 80, and I'm not sure if the motor will have the power to run everything. When I turn the wheel at an idle and stopped I can hear the motor bog down a little, but then I guess every motor does that.

I tried to do a burnout in my driveway, but my front wheels didn't have enough traction.

Thanks. I did drive it around the block it felt good, but the steering was a little stiff. I greased it all today so it should turn more smoothly. I would like to go to a high steer, and maybe hydro assist but that will probably some time from now. I also need shocks in a bad way.
