I have a small miller stick welder like the pic below. All the carts I see are for MIG welders. I have search all over the net for drawings for carts and tables for welders. But cant find any for this type of welder. I was going to buy one. But it looks like Ill be making one. I want one I can mount my cutting torch on also.
Any ideas, pics or suggestion?

If it were me, I would build a frame similar to an oxy-fuel torch cart. However I would extend the front and build a back to basically frame in your thunderbolt. On the front build a plate and frame to mount the torch tanks on. Build it high enough so that you can mount saftey chains to secure the tanks in place. I sketched an idea but it looks fairly cr@ppy. If you still want a copy, I could scan a copy for you tommorow and e-mail it to you.

I was going to make mine wider so that I could have a rod holder rack on one side and cable hooks on the other, but I didn't have enough steel, so I narrowed it. It's a little taller than I thought it would be, but that's ok. I cut up an old bed frame for mine, and put swivel casters on all four corners. When I get some more steel I'll build an adjustable shelf, the mig fitting on the bottom was a fluke.
I'm not sure I would want torch tanks on it, after allif you have cracks in the floor, or have to wheel it through a door, the welder itself is plenty heavy, plus the two bottles...
If I was going to do that though, I'd build a little cart similar to mine, just not so tall, and widen it for the tanks to fit on the side. Have a post to chain them to and hang the hoses from, etc.

Run to walmart and steal a shopping cart. Perfect welding cart saves money on steel, and already has nice wheels and chrome finish.

i'm looking for an old yard sale tool box:D build a frame under it to hold the tank and bigger wheels. nice to have 4-5 drawers or use one with a large opening and 3 drawers:D weld 2 uprights 1) for the stinger 1) ground cable. and then install a 50' cord with a self grounding plug so that you can have some distance and you can plug in a grinder if need be.

What's so difficult about using a drawing for a MIG and just modifying it so it doesn't have the area for the shielding gas bottle?? It's not like there's something special about the area where the actual welder sits on MIG vs stick.
Who uses drawings anyhow??:flipoff2:

Figure out what you have, how you want it organized, what's bad about it and how you would do it over the second time. Then build.

It aint rocket science. Sketch out what you want. Cut the pieces to fit. Tack em together. If it suits you, weld em up. If not, cut the tacks, back up and punt.

HF is about $30 and about the same quality (or lack of). You will need to use your welder to make it strong enough to last. But hey, thats why we own welders, right!

A buddy of mine was at the local Suzuki (ATV) dealer the other day, and he said the shipping crates the bikes and quads come in are steel angle crates. A couple of casters, a 3/8" top, and you've got a welding table and cart.

I am going to pick up this little cheap and weld it together instead of using the little nuts and bolts.
The ATV create sounds like a great idea for a mobile work bench though :smokin: I used a medium sized wire spool from the plant I work at. I put some casters and it works great.

Most all of the crackerbox carts I've ever seen were simply 4 pieces of angle welded into a square with wheels on the bottom. It's not like it needs to carry a bottle of gas with it or be nice.
