Yeah, I got a little more done on the cage last night...I keep thinking of bailing on work and finishing right now...might have the 4 point part done by this weekend;)

O-Yeah, this morning, my fiance brought a tear to my eye when she said that she wants me to make the new Scout into a wheeler for her...Now that's what I'm talking about!:D

I took the rig down to the local 4x shop it inquiry about a cage. I'm sorry I wasted the gas. Went something like this

Me "You guys build custom cages"
A-hole "Yup, you'll have to pull the top or it's an extra hundred"
Me " I want to make sure it fits under the top, won't you need it on"
A-hole "No it'll fit"
Me "Well let me show you what I'm interested in"
--- Walk out to the rig ---
Me "I want the bar brought down behind the dash"
A-hole "Nope we bring em down right in front"
Me "Ah that's a shitty built cage, I can buy it and do it myself"
A-hole "well that what we use to do it"
Me "Ok, that's not custom, thanks for nothing"

Lucky man, my wife is still undecided on the whole thing, I was hoping after this weekend she'd ask for her own rig.

I've been workin my tail off since Sunday, to get a slab poured for the barn to shop conversion I am working on.

Cleaned out the barn on sunday evening.

Got a load of sand in monday morning, and spent the day leveling it and setting forms.

Tuesday morning, finished putting the rebar and wire down, concrete truck didn't show, cost me an extra day of equipment rental.

Wednesday, for some reason I couldn't get any help lined up on this day, Skeetshooter and I were a little concerned when that first truck pulled in and we were the only to motherf#ckers there for a 16 yard pour.

Help eventually arrived and we finished up about 8:30 last night, turned out pretty well, slab measures 45'x20' with a 12'x10' apron at the front door.

Today I returned the power trowel I rented, came home and took a nap. Last day of vacation.

Slapped a new EI module in this morning. Baby fired right up, bang, first spark into a cylinder. Purrs like a kitten. Good kickup on the rpms's too. Then, I swept the garage. Now I am waiting for everything to dry off and I will pull the ragtop and start fitting and measuring my front cage. Probably take a look at that driver side motor mount too. Engine seems to be torquing over an awful lot.....

Oh yeah, put new tires on the wifes car today, too. And got a haircut. Can you say VACATION :D

I bolted my front end into the racer last night. I need to get a longer inboard pass U-bolt tonight and take that side back out.. just not long enough to make me feel good. :)

Gotta take one of the 33s off the T'all to the tire-shop tonight and get it patched.. then I can finish adjusting the brakes and have it road worthy again.

I've been driving my Scout to work all week - at least the flat-spots go away by the time I'm halfway to work.. and the stereo's still louder than the tires. :)

Don't need to use 4th gear on my way to work any more, either.. Not that I *can't* use it, but by the time I'm ready to grab 4th I'm slowing down to get back off I-15..

.might have the 4 point part done by this weekend;)

I hope to finish wiring the Ethernet n' phone in the shop tomorrow morning so I can finish the walls and put up my shelves n' such.. I got the "house" end of the wiring done last night.

Plus, make some progress on the racer.

she said that she wants me to make the new Scout into a wheeler for her...Now that's what I'm talking about!:D

:D Michelle hasn't decided just what we're doing with "Oscar" yet.. she's been driving it to work every day for the last month. Gettin' real sick of the manual steering and the 31" bias Mickeys.. :D

I told her there was a reason I was giving them away... but she likes the aluminum wheels.

*I* keep thinking it's getting my SII axles down the road.. she's still worrying about $$$.

Oh yeah.. I'm kinda :bounce: to see if UPS left a JD2 on my doorstep today or if I have to wait until Monday to ooh and ahhh over it..

Guess that means Monday I need to visit Pacific Steel..

(edit: the wait is over.. :bounce: :bounce2: )

I'm thinking it's time to open a shop in the area. You've got 4wd not so special, and no-can-lift warehouse. Just need to find a group of people serious enough to pony up some cash to start the business.
