What are some ideas on a bomb proof d60 front?
I'm thinking:
5.13 gears/ARB
35 spline inners/outers
Warn hubs
CTM joints

YOU?????

Dutchman shafts
CTM joints
drive flanges
kingpin style

dutchman was just the first name that popped into my head... could be moser, currie, etc. just a personal preference over Warn, i think that they are only good for winches :D

here is the "camo" proof front 60 i am building

tera 60 housing
3 1/2" x .250 cro-mo axle tubes
40 spline ARB
spicer 5:38 r/c gears
40 spline 1.75" dia gun drilled 300m inner axles
4340 axle yoke. (axle is a two piece design )
CTM 60 joint made from 300m
40 spline 1.75 dia gun drilled 300m stub axle
4340 yoke
aluminum wheel hubs
4340 drive plates
cro-mo spindles
larger than stock timken bearings will solid spacer.
1410 pinyon yoke
cro-mo fabricated steering hubs/yoke
willwood cross drilled rotars
willwood 4 pistion calipers

the only stock dana part is the c yoke on the axle tube.

basically i am building the baddest 60 in the country. :D

Why would you build it like that...that wont even be as strong as a D30 with 297s...hehehe  that really will be a bomb proof (literally speaking) setup...

I'm not going that bullet proof but I am going:

Ford RC 60
Detroit
5.13 gears
35 spline inners/outers
CTM Joints
Drive flanges
Alloy shaft of choice...

I think I am going to stick with stock Ford everything else until I break then I will upgrade:D

The Spicer gears don't count as stock Dana parts?

Yep, Saw them and they're looking sweet. I'm doing the same, but sticking with 1350 yoke and 35 spline axles.

NONE yet. And do like camo and run aftermarket centersection. Ford hp60's are the weakest factory housing you can get. Then chevy, then aftermarket. Don't argue. Go get a ford , chevy tera, and dynatrac center, hold 'em all side by side and compare and weigh then argue, if you still want to.

Camo - Is Sandy building your axle? I talked to him a week ago and he's building one very similar. Do you have the part number for the 1410 pinion yoke? Do you have a part number for the32 spline 1410 yoke for a 205 or 241?

9-Volt - Who makes 5:38's for a RC 60? The lowest I could find were 5:13's.

the 1410 yoke for 205 is stock dodge on the cummins trucks 8?-93

They only started producing them a few months ago. I can't recall the manufacturer right now (Richmond maybe?). West Coast Differentials lists 5.38 gears for RC Dana 60s on their website (http://www.differentials.com/catalog/13.pdf).

with a dream list like camo posted, i think he has a shit load of money. but it does sound like it will be bomb proof.

.250 wall because it will be lighter. cro-mo because it is stronger

yes sandy is building it.

sandy cone builds 300m d60 axles

it will cost me little bit more than a dynatrac 60.

by stock i meant parts that came on the 60 i am cutting up. :D

Does he only do the 40 spline ones or does he do 35 spline too and can you get them in custom lengths...ie 35 spline outers for a ford and you said about $600 a set right???

Whats the PN/ application for the knuckle yokes on the 2-piece axles? Are these being fabbed up as well? Could this be done with a 35 spliner? I will prolly have some Warn rear 35 spline FF shafts takin up space, and something like this could work for my 35 spline ford stubs... if i can get a yoke

I got mine from Randy's Ring and Pinion. One reverse set, one standard, one box said Richmond on it, the other said Yukon. I can't remember which is which. I think the reverse cut 5.38s came in the Richmond box. I got mine in late November, or early December, so if they've only been available 4 months I must have gotten one of the first sets...:D

JEEPRZ

Richmond made the 5.38s a few years ago, then stopped, then started again...

they are custom made to what ever size you want.

yes a 35 spline 300m set of axles run about 600 plus the yokes. 1.75 40 spline gun drilled ones are around 750 a set plus yokes

there is no part number for my yokes cause they are custom made.

you can get a 35 spline spicer pinion yoke from spicer that will work if you only want a factory non alloy part. i forget the p/n but it is from a dana 80 out of a crystler. you could also use a stock axle yoke and have it broached with what ever size spline you want.

Dana Spicer. I've got a 5.38 RC 60 gearset in a Ford front end in the shop right now.
