Anyone have pics of their TJ or YJ rear tube work. I'm sick of messing with the sheet metal after moving the axle back and the sawzall is beckoning. Anyway, anyone got pics of a TJ or YJ that has tubed out the rear from the center hoop back and preferably has also rebuilt the floor for some sort of storage? The best floor pics I've seen with searches so far are coming from P&T's setup, but I don't think he tubed the rear of his rig. Thanks all, gotta have something to do on the rig, cause there ain't shit for wheelin' out here until I can get back up somewhere more northern!!!

As far as storage goes, I built a fuel cell frame out of 1"x0.083" tube around the cell. I used 1" expanded metal (wire mesh) as the floor from the seats back. Works great and easy to work with and bend.
Search for H8Monday's rig.

87yj38, did you attach the body to the cage at all or just leave them separate? I've been considering going to a tube rear half with my TJ and trying to decide how to keep the body in one piece. Looks like the rear of the door opening would need support, but I'm not sure how to do that without causing stress cracks later on down the road, if the cage is solid to the frame and the body is on flexible mounts.
Do you have any more pics of your jeep? I'd love to see some more details.
Thanks!

I welded some 1"x1"x1/8" angle to the inside of the rear door opening, then welded that to the main hoop behind me. Really simple.
I have a ton more pics, PM me your e-mail address and I will send ya some more.

87yj38, any chance of you having any more close-up pics of the rear of your rig?
Todd, that's a sick looking rig. Any pics from the back?

JKcustomsYJ, good lookin' rig, is there anything besides the steel mesh that's supporting your cell?

The fuel cell is supported by a frame work out of square tubing & flat strap. The steel mesh is only in the rear most section of the frame to support my cooler.
here is an older pic, I have changed some things around since the photo, but it give you an idea.

That white "Jeep" is actually a buggy.
BTF's Fusion Chassis with aluminum body panels. It also uses BTF's fiberglass cowl section.
