Ha, Im making some spring hangers right now as we speak and I need to know something...

ABOUT how tight should the spring bolts be? I have to weld the top piece of the hanger on and how tight the bolt is gonna determine how wide my sides need to be.

Does the hanger need to wiggle around by hand or does it need to be tight as shit???

Need to know cause I am wanting to weld the top piece on and how wide of a top piece to use is changed by bolt tightness..

Generally, you should be able to spin the washer by hand.

my spring bushings have a steel sleeve inside them to prevent the bolt tension having anything to do with it. if yours don't I would leave them fairly loose, just enough pressure to start squishing the bushing
