We'll, it's time to replace the cluch in my YJ (91 4.0L).

Looking for recomendations on a manufacturer (Valeo, LuK, SPX, etc.)?

NAPA = Valeo
Pep Boys = LuK
Kragen = SPX

Luk, all the way, wherever you get it from.

Hey Rob, just did mine and from what eveyone recommended all over the place, LuK was the best to go with. I went cheap and got some other p.o.s. first, then had to redo it a second time due to some problems after I swapped in a replacement tranny and got the LuK. If you check around online, you'll probably be able to knock a coule bucks off, but it was easier to me to just run over to Pep Boys and pick it up at the counter.

I've heard good things about LuK, in the past. The Valeo "kit" from Napa for $248.89 includes the slave cylinder. However, I did not want to base a decision on the fact that a particular "kit" included a slave cylinder or not. Pep Boys quoted me $199.99 for the LuK clutch "kit" and $85.19 for the slave cylinder.

Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I'm looking at going with the LuK.

Troy....I knew that you moved, but is FL correct?

Yup, Florida :( On the good side, we're only going to stay in this area until next September - can't wait to get the hell out of here!!!! From what I've heard, the highest point around here is a bridge. The nearest wheeling that I've heard of is a rock pit and is several hours up state. We're looking at Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, N. and S. Carolina for when we move. Right now my rig just sits here collecting rust from all the damn salt out here.

Hmmm.....All I can say is that I've spent a few years in various parts of those same states and there were some very nice areas. Then again, there were some real shit hole places as well. Guess that can go for just about anywhere :rolleyes: One good thing was that life seemed to move along at a litter slower pace. Oh, and college sports is the shit!

Best of luck with picking/finding a new place next year :beer:
