I read everything I could find on doing a rear disc brake conversion on an xj dana 44 ... tsm has a kit but I'm thinking that there might be another way to do it. Lots of info on welding on brackets on a f/s wagoneer d44 but not much on a xj d44. I'm going to need zj rotors or perhaps 77 monte carlo rotors (both with need the centres machined but was wondering if anyone has done this with weld on brackets from one of the manufacturers. I know I could use zj backing plates but the things are alot of money new and I can't find a wrecker that wants to part with a set unless they sell me the whole rear end.
Any suggestions on suppliers, part numbers etc. would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the input. I realize that both a crown vic and a zj brackets and backing plates will work. My problem is that the wreckers won't part with any of this stuff. They want to sell me the whole diff. I'm looking to the weld on brackets and what my options are for the d44.
